UC Irvine junior pitcher Scott Gorgen was named Collegiate Baseball “Louisville Slugger” National Player of the Week and Easton Big West Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season after a one-hit performance against Hawaii last week.

Gorgen retired the first 12 batters he faced and did not surrender a hit until the seventh inning. The All-American right-hander struck out nine, walked one and faced just four over the minimum in eight innings of work to record his third one-hit outing of the season.

Gorgen leads the Big West Conference in ERA at 0.60, opposing batting average (.071) and is second in strikeouts with 34.
