Woman arrested after attack on officer, police say

An Aliso Viejo woman was arrested in Costa Mesa early Tuesday for allegedly hitting two officers and being drunk in public after drinking at Skosh Monahan’s, officials said Tuesday.

Police received a call about 1 a.m. Tuesday from someone saying Shayne Alacar, 23, was in the gutter at Newport Boulevard and Walnut Avenue screaming she had been raped, Sgt. Jerry Hildeman said.

While officers were talking with her, Alacar lunged at one of the officers and starting “wailing on his foot,” Hildeman said. Authorities could not substantiate her claims of being raped.
