BREAKING NEWS:

Police are searching for two men armed with a handgun and a knife who invaded a Newport Beach man’s apartment while he was there Tuesday night, officers said.

The men, described as in their 20s, entered the man’s apartment in the Coronado at Newport South complex at 1800 E. 16th St. shortly before midnight, according to Sgt. Evan Sailor.

“It’s unknown if there is any loss [in the apartment],” Sailor said.

The victim suffered unspecified, non-life-threatening injuries and was treated in his apartment. Sailor said a black Volkswagen Jetta was seen fleeing the area soon after the incident.
