Health screenings are available

The County of Orange Preventive Health Care for Adults 50+ and the city of Laguna Beach Senior Services are offering free Preventive Health Assessments at the Laguna Beach Senior Center.

Health assessments include:

?Blood pressure;

?Vision screenings;

?Urine screenings;

?Hemoccult (home kit);

?Hemoglobin testing;

?Blood sugar testing; and

?Hearing tests.

Note:No medical treatment is provided. If treatment is required, referrals and coordination of care with providers is made available.

Special cholesterol screening clinic

A cholesterol screening is scheduled for April 21 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. by appointment only.

Space is limited.

Participants must be older than 50 and not have had a screening within the last year.

The Lipid panel (total cholesterol, LDL, HDL and triglycerides) is done with a figure prick.

Fasting in the last 8-12 hours is preferable.

Handouts will be provided to help understand results.

All services are provided at the Laguna Beach Senior Center, 384 Legion Street, lower level, Laguna Beach.
