School stadium names to be taken until next Thursday

Community members will have until Thursday to name the new stadium for Estancia and Costa Mesa high schools.

Name suggestions or feedback can be sent to Tom Antal, proposal review committee chairman, at tantal@nmusd.us.

The committee will reconvene at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Newport-Mesa Unified School District Education Center boardroom to discuss the proposals.

The review process was pushed back after a change in policy to allow buildings to be named after both living and deceased individuals. The previous policy called for a person to be deceased for two years before being considered.
