Pasadena Games

PASADENA — Erica Pearson of Newport Harbor High took third place in the 1,600 meters with a time of 5 minutes, 5.04 seconds Saturday at the Pasadena Games at Pasadena City College.

Sophia Ditty was third in the 3,000 with a time of 10.25.1. Desiree Alexander was eighth (10:36.83), and Jennifer Cane finished 12th (10:52.5).

On the boys’ side, Matt Bisonnette took third place with a time of 16.12 seconds in the 110 hurdles.

Michael Puncel was fourth in the 3,000 with 8:57.03. Jake Dawson (8:57.82) was fifth and Michael Taylor (9:04.74) was 10th.

The Sailors play host to Edison Thursday at 2:45 p.m.

CYPRESS — Mustangs sophomore second baseman Brian Waldron was two for four with three RBIs in Game 1 of Saturday’s nonleague doubleheader.

Junior shortstop Mike Molina, who also pitched in Game 2, was three for four with three RBIs for the Mustangs (7-6).

Costa Mesa returns to Orange Coast League play at home Tuesday at 3:15 p.m. against Calvary Chapel.
