DAILY PILOT CUP BRIEF (2007)

COSTA MESA (2007) — Isabel Shapiro scored two goals as Harbor Day won the Silver Division title of the Daily Pilot Cup Sunday at the Farm Sports Complex.

Jordan Kessler scored the first goal of the game for Harbor Day, giving the Seahawks a 1-0 halftime lead.

Paige Nelson scored in the second half on a penalty kick before Shapiro found the back of the net twice.

Mariners, coached by Mark Arblaster, scored late in the game.

Giordana Ricci, Marina Anderson, Kennedy McGuinness and Bryana Corlett were instrumental forwards for Harbor Day, keeping the pressure on Mariners. At midfield, Alyssa Anderson, Sophia Potter and Tia Di Giovanni aggressively upported their team.

Defensively, the Seahawks’ Madeleine Francis, Abigail Klein and Madeline Van Otten provived great strength and stopped Mariners’ offensive attempts.

In goal, Harbor Day’s Caroline Davin skillfully blocked all but one Mariners shot.

Harbor Day was coached by John Di Giovanni.
