Puma joins financial services firm

Anthony Puma of Laguna Beach has joined Signature Resources as a financial representative.

Based in Irvine, Signature Resources is a member of John Hancock Financial Network, a national network of independent career firms.

Puma has more than 10 years of experience in the insurance and financial services field.

He graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a major in business administration and a concentration in marketing.

He is active in several community and business organizations including the Wyland Foundation, American Motorcycle Assn. and Rock Harbor Church.

Art studio buildings to be reroofed

The buildings that house the Laguna Canyon Artists studios and Davy Liu Studio Gallery at 3275 and 3251 Laguna Canyon Road soon will be outfitted with brand new pitched roofs.

The new silhouette for the buildings was staked for public viewing, as the owner plans to change the current flat-roofed profile.

Mike Horvath of Laguna Commerce Plaza, the buildings’ property management company, said the flat roofs collected leaves that had to be removed twice a year.

When workers walked on the roofs to remove the leaves, their weight occasionally caused the roofs to leak.

The project has been approved by the Design/Review Board; construction is set to begin this summer.
