Newport Beach Film Festival wants volunteers

The Newport Beach Film Festival is seeking volunteers to play a variety of roles during upcoming festivities at Edwards Island Cinemas and Lido Theatre.

Three to four shifts are available during both the mornings and evenings April 24 to May 1. Festival organizers will host two informational meetings for potential volunteers to learn more and sign up for shifts.

The first meeting will be 11 a.m. today in City Council Chambers at Newport Beach City Hall, 3300 Newport Blvd. A second meeting will be 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Friend’s Meeting Room at the Newport Beach Central Public Library, 1000 Avocado Ave.

The ninth-annual Newport Beach Film Festival will run April 24 to May 1 and will spotlight more than 350 films from around the world, offering a wide selection of features, shorts, documentaries and animation. Screenings, events and galas will take place at various venues throughout Newport Beach, including the Edwards Island Cinemas and the Lido Theatre.
