CORONA DEL MAR — Gus Ellis recorded 10 kills for the Sea Kings in their 25-8, 25-16, 25-18 Pacific Coast League win Friday.

Dillon Flinn added seven kills and Jeff Carlson had six kills for Corona del Mar (16-5, 4-0 in league), which shares the No. 3 ranking in CIF Southern Section Division II with Laguna Beach.

The Sea Kings won’t play next week during spring break and returns to play host to Beckman April 17.

CYPRESS — Bayle Smith had 17 kills and two aces for the Lightning in their 25-20, 25-21, 25-20 Academy League victory Friday at Oxford Academy.

Joey Booth added 15 kills and two aces, while Mattias Russo-Larsson had nine digs for Sage Hill (7-9, 2-0 in league), which plays host to Brethren Christian Friday at 5 p.m.

Calvary Chapel def. Estancia

COSTA MESA — Kohl Jones had a team-high five kills for Estancia against host Calvary Chapel, which won the Orange Coast League match, 25-20, 25-20, 25-18, Friday.

Scott Essen tallied four kills and Tyler Sullivan had 15 assists for Estancia 6-5, 2-2 in league), which is off next week for spring break and returns to play host to April 15.

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Sophomore center fielder Dillan Freiberg went two for three for the Sailors in their Sunset League game Friday.

Junior designated hitter Alex Rios had Newport Harbor’s other hit. The Sailors dropped to 5-7-1, 1-4 in league.

The Sea Kings open play in the Beach Pit Classic today at 11 a.m. against Northwood at Costa Mesa.
