Two foot races for charity around Fairview Park will take place with singing, bagpipe playing and pancake eating at the inaugural Costa Mesa Community Run at Estancia High School on April 26.

Proceeds from the event will go to the foundations of Costa Mesa High School, Estancia High School, TeWinkle Middle School and Costa Mesa Middle School; they will support academic endeavors, athletic programs and tutorial programs, said Estancia High School spokeswoman Karen Barloon.

The Kiwanis Club will also host a pancake breakfast, local Boy Scouts will march, and a health expo will offer free medical tests and a smoothie bar.
