Concordia 9, Vanguard 3

COSTA MESA — Lions junior designated hitter Zach Falk went two for three with two runs batted in in the Golden State Athletic Conference home game Wednesday.

Sophomore Tyson Leighton tripled and junior Derek Craddock doubled for Vanguard (15-22, 6-19 in conference).

The Lions had a 2-0 lead in the first inning, but wound up striking out 11 times the rest of the way.

The Eagles (15-14, 13-12) have beaten Vanguard three times this season.

The Lions play today at Concordia at 3 p.m.

LOS ANGELES — Senior Victor Lamm won in singles and doubles to highlight the Anteaters in the nonconference match Wednesday at the LMU Tennis Center.

Lamm topped Sam Tadevosian, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 3 singles, then teamed with senior Ajay Ahluwalia to post an 8-6 triumph at No. 1 doubles.

UCI fell to 8-12, while the Lions improved to 8-11.
