Dodgers defeat No. 1 Cardinals in Little League

George Gleason delivered a two-run double in the sixth inning to help the Dodgers secure a 7-3 victory over the first-place Cardinals in Majors Division play at Huntington Valley Little League.

The Cardinals had taken a 3-1 lead before the Dodgers’ Grant Schlindwein belted a two-run home run to tie the score.

In the sixth, Jake Weiser and Tyler Murray both singled and scored on Gleason’s double.

Red Sox 10, Cardinals 1

Jarrett Anton, Blake Diamond, Kyle Johnson, Garrett Garcia, Nick Krakower and Parker Hoppes all had hits, and Clay Morris’ three-run home run punctuated a big win for the Red Sox.

Yankees 7, Angels 3

Hits by Jeremy Dorff, Blake Hollingsworth and Sean Mastro allowed the Yankees a 3-0 lead, and hits in the fourth inning by Peter Goode, Kyle Crossen and Josh Adams secured the victory.

Dodgers 8, Yankees 6

Jake Weiser delivered a three-run home run late in the game to lift the Dodgers past the Yankees.

Weiser’s homer scored Garret Kelly and Collin Cornmier.

Behind the pitching of Peter Goode and timely hitting, the Yankees had taken a 6-2 lead through four innings.

Diamondbacks 5, Angels 4

Macken Carroll hit a three-run homer, and Ryan Morrisey had a solo home run as the Diamondbacks edged the Angels.

In Minor A Division action

Dodgers 6, Yankees 1

Chase Timmins hit his first-ever home run, a two-run shot in the second inning, to help send the Dodgers past the Yankees.

Wesley Brown’s single in the sixth inning scored Nick Tone for the lone Yankees run.
