Chamber to mix at Crystal Cove

The Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce will hold its next networking mixer from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 16 at EH (Eric Hanan), 7772-8112 E. Coast Hwy., in the Crystal Cove Promenade, Newport Beach.

Admission is $10 for members and $20 for nonmembers.

Business Club to discuss “green” issues

Sustainable development consultant Chris Prelitz and Zero Trash Laguna founder Chip McDermott will speak at the Laguna Beach Business Club’s breakfast meeting Thursday.

Prelitz has been involved in “green” building and sustainability for more than 25 years. His projects range from off-grid solar communities in Taos, N.M., to the first permitted solar powered home in Orange County, and the just completed solar powered, LEED certified Mercedes Benz dealership in Arizona. McDermott founded Zero Trash Laguna ( www.zerotrashlaguna.org) to rid Laguna Beach of trash on its streets and beaches.
