Viewpoint def. Sage Hill

CALABASAS — Sage Hill took third place in the Viewpoint tournament after the Lighting fell in three to Viewpoint Saturday. The Lightning, ranked No. 6 in the CIF Southern Section coaches’ poll lost, 15-25, 25-15, 12-15 to No. 2 Viewpoint.

Junior Bayle Smith had 10 kills for the Lightning (11-10, 3-0 in the Academy League). Sophomore Joey Booth added seven kills. Both made the all-tournament team.

The Lightning record earlier wins Saturday against Laguna Blanca, 25-20, 25-13, 25-18, St. Bonaventure, 25-6, 25-14, 25-18, and Malibu, 25-22, 25-16. Sage Hill will resume Academy League play Tuesday at No. 3 St. Margaret’s, also undefeated in league.
