JWA cancels U.S. flights for maintenance checks
Two American Airlines flights scheduled to depart John Wayne Airport Wednesday morning were canceled while the airline underwent a round of maintenance checks and stopped hundreds of flights nationwide.
Jenny Wedge, a spokeswoman for John Wayne Airport, said the canceled flights had been scheduled to depart for Washington, D.C. and St. Louis. The airline canceled an Orange County flight Tuesday, as well.
Wedge said the airport typically has about one cancellation per week, and she couldn’t speculate on whether John Wayne would see more in the coming days.
“We were told yesterday there weren’t going to be any today, so American would know more than I would know,” she said.
