UCI’s mock trial team places 12th in national event
UCI’s 3-year-old mock trial team entered in its first national competition earlier this month and bested some of the top schools in the nation.
Out of 64 qualifying teams, UCI’s team placed 12th overall, better than Duke and Stanford.
Political science major Brisa Simmons earned the All American Attorney Award while Mitchell Davis, a junior history major, got the award for the All American Witness. Only 20 students receive individual awards out of 500 participants at the competition.
UCI received six team awards and nine individual awards this season, including the national competition.
