SURFING FORECAST

TODAY

The southwest should stay small at knee-high for south-facing breaks. West-facing breaks are looking at a slight increase in wind swell. This is all predicated on what the low, which passed to the north Wednesday, will do in the way of forming close-proximity wind fetch. Models today have downgraded this scenario.

The wind swell should come to its peak.

Taking the middle ground once again on the models today, look for chest-high max at west-facing breaks with 9-second period wind swell coming in from 310.

South-facing breaks that can work that kind of wrap would see cleaner lines in the waist-high range.

SATURDAY

There may still be some northwest wind swell, but with models flip-flopping over the past couple days on this scenario, be hesitant to call for much more than waist- to chest-high wind swell at west-facing breaks.

In any event, it looks like weather will be rather nice and winds benefiting from a light offshore flow.

SUNDAY

This may be a nice weather day for Southern California, but the swell at this point is looking minimal: knee- to waist-high at best by the looks of things today. There should be some southwest ground swell in the water, and traces of wind swell by the looks of things today. Overall, knee- to waist-high most everywhere seems like a reasonable expectation.
