Newport government needs you for boards

Newport Beach is looking for people interested in serving four-year terms on various city boards and commissions. Nine spots will open June 30. Vacancies will include one seat on the Board of Library Trustee; two seats on the City Arts Commission; two seats on the Civil Service Board; one seat on the Harbor Commission; one seat on the Parks, Beaches and Recreation Commission; and two seats on the Planning Commission.

The deadline to apply for positions is 4 p.m. May 14. Applications and additional information about the boards and commissions are available from the City Clerk’s Office, 3300 Newport Blvd., by calling (949) 644-3005, or at www.city.newport-beach.ca.us under Departments/City Clerk/Citizen Participation.
