Peotter moves on

Corona del Mar High senior Allison Peotter has signed a national letter of intent to play water polo at George Washington University, she said Wednesday.

Peotter, a first-team All-Pacific Coast League and Daily Pilot Dream Team selection, had 40 goals and 37 steals this year for the Sea Kings. A three-year varsity player, the driver helped CdM to the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions title and the CIF Southern Section Division I championship game.

Peotter was also considering Indiana University and Villanova, she said. She plans to major in both business and marketing.

“I knew I wanted to go to a school outside of California,” she said. “I loved the city [Washington D.C.] and I liked the girls on the team. It’s four blocks away from the White House, so it’s a good area to be in.”

Also a talented backstroke swimmer for the Sea Kings, Peotter came back from a torn muscle in her right side in late December. She had spent nearly a year recovering from the injury, but made an immediate impact, often sparking the CdM counterattack.

“It’s really satisfying,” Peotter said.
