Council to have final vote on campaign contribution limits

The Huntington Beach City Council will vote one more time on whether to eliminate contribution limits for local campaigns at its meeting Monday.

The council previously voted 4-3 to remove the existing $300 limits at its last meeting April 21, but a second vote would put the law on the books. Such a law would apply to the upcoming elections in November.

Members will also vote on whether to give the city authority to sell certain land to other public agencies, specifically to allow sale of the land easement a county-built bridge sits on. Such a move would let the county get grant money to maintain the bridge on Edinger Avenue at the city’s western border, according to staff reports.

The council meets at 6 p.m. Monday at City Hall, 2000 Main St., Huntington Beach.
