An Orange resident will be arraigned in two weeks on charges that he repeatedly masturbated in public in several Newport Beach locations between September and last month, police said today.

David Michael White, 32, was arrested shortly before midnight May 2 after a resident pointed him out as the man masturbating in public in the 400 block of East Balboa Boulevard, police said.

Police believe White may be responsible for several other indecent exposures on the peninsula in recent months. During the crimes, spanning Sept. 3 to April, a man was observed masturbating next to and inside parked vehicles and, in one incident, on a house porch.

Court records show White has three previous convictions for indecent exposure dating back to 2006.

White is a 6-foot, white, 230-pound man with blond hair and a beer belly or heavy set build, police said.

Anyone who believes he or she may have been a victim or witness to similar crimes on the peninsula is asked to call (800) 550-NBPD. White is being held in Orange County Jail without bail and scheduled to be arraigned May 20.
