Charm House Tour planned for May 18

The 36th annual Village Laguna Charm House Tour will be May 18. The five houses on the tour include a remodeled 1920s cottage; a contemporary home; an original folk-art cottage; a home inspired by Richard Neutra; and an oceanfront estate.

Chartered buses will pick up participants at the Festival of Arts grounds on Laguna Canyon Road (park across the street in the public lot) from noon to 3:30 p.m. The last bus departs at 3:30 p.m. and homes are closed for viewing at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $40 each pre-sale, and $45 on the day of the event, if available. Taste for Charity fundraiser set for May 15

The Laguna Board of Realtors & Affiliates will host its annual Taste for Charity fundraiser from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Tivoli, Too, 777 Laguna Canyon Road. The $30 admission includes six “Taste Tickets” to sample from food booths.

Baby items needed for expecting mothers

The Laguna Beach Resource Center is supporting the Laguna Beach Community Clinic with a collection of items for expecting mothers. Items will be collected at the Laguna Beach Farmers Market from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. And can also be dropped off at the Chamber of Commerce, 357 Glenneyre St.

Memorial Day trash pickup schedule will be delayed

Waste Management of Orange County’s trash and recycling pick-up schedule will be delayed by one day throughout the week of May 26, in observance of Memorial Day. Customers should place their bins out for pick-up one day later than usual, from May 27 through May 31.

Boutique Benefit doubles proceeds from last year

The second annual Boutique Benefit last Saturday raised more than $20,000, doubling the proceeds of last year’s benefit, which will go to help the Laguna Resource Center, according to Evonne Kane, event founder.
