REMEMBERING CHRISTOFER

A 3-year-old who captured the hearts of an entire community was remembered Wednesday at a candlelight beach vigil.

Christofer Krajec, whose struggle with an inoperable brain tumor brought Lagunans together to hold benefits and interfaith prayer events, died Monday evening shortly after being taken off life support.

Christofer was diagnosed last fall with a glioblastoma, and soon became unable to move or communicate.

His parents took him to Mexico for alternative treatments, as local doctors said there was nothing they could do for him, but they believed his time on Earth was meant to touch the lives of those around him.

“He has made more miracles and impacted our world more in three years than most of us hope to make in 50,” his mother Anna wrote Tuesday in a group e-mail. “He has been my greatest teacher and inspiration to be my highest best.”
