Norton, Ferragamo part of celebrity tennis tourney
NEWPORT BEACH — A handful of celebrities and former professional athletes are coming to Newport Beach today in the name of charity, using tennis to help their cause.
The fifth annual Love Is Celeb/Pro Am Charity Tennis Tournament kicks off today with a mixer at the Newport Sports Museum at 6:30 p.m.
Competition starts Saturday at 11 a.m at the Newport Beach Tennis Club.
The tournament is featuring soap star Donna Mills and producer Jolie Barretta Keyser as its celebrity hosts.
Former heavyweight champion Ken Norton and former NFL quarterback Vince Ferragamo are scheduled to play, as well as rock singer Gavin Rossdale.
The Aliah Sweet Fragile Hearts Foundation is a non-profit organization granting wishes for siblings of children with severe, multiple, life-threatening diseases.
