The airport must be expanded.

I would rather see airport expansion than another $400/500 a night hotel being built.

I live right under the flight pattern.

However, I tune out the noise.

I’m never aware of it unless I actually listen for a plane.

I enjoy having an airport close by.

I would have enjoyed even more having a major airport; but because that’s not a possibility, we have to be practical and go with the next best thing, which is expanding the existing airport.

Columnist’s words on Leece are inaccurate

Briefly, may I opine that the column by Byron de Arakal (“Leece’s inquisition out-of-bounds,” April 23) is inaccurate in content and journalistically unfair to Councilwoman Wendy Leece.

I’ve been a member of three seniors centers. The Costa Mesa Senior Center takes a third place with reference to all phases of operation.

Management is inept, and verbal condemnation by the members has been rife for years. Members go elsewhere, if able. Or stay home.

Adams, Jefferson did not die in 1816

I wanted to bring to your attention some incorrect information that was in Joe Bell’s article (“Political lesson,” April 24).

It had mentioned that John Adams and Thomas Jefferson had died on July 4, 1816. This is incorrect. They both died within hours of each hour on July 4, 1826.
