Brigadier general to speak at Mayor’s Breakfast

Fountain Valley Mayor John Collins will welcome Brig. Gen. (Ret) James P. Combs as the guest speaker at his monthly Mayor’s Breakfast Thursday.

Combs is the commander of the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos, which houses an airfield, two runways and federal and state emergency troops.

Troops under Combs’ command are tasked with backing county and state emergency personnel for law enforcement, fire and medical emergencies.

Combs is a Vietnam veteran and was appointed brigadier general in 1999.

The 8 a.m. breakfast is in Fountain Valley Regional Hospital’s Saltzer Conference Room, 17100 Euclid St. Breakfast is $2, and reservations are not required.
