Students and youth group members throughout Huntington Beach were honored at Bella Terra for the 2008 Youth Character Awards.

The city’s Children’s Needs Task Force recognized 68 nominees and 15 honorees at the event last week, attended by Mayor Debbie Cook. Those winners will be honored again Monday by the City Council, and their names will be etched into a bronze plaque at Bella Terra as part of the Youth Character Awards’ “Wall of Fame.”

The awards are given to students grades three to 12, nominated solely on their character or good deeds in the community.
