Costa Mesa senior center to celebrate reopening

St. John’s Manor, a low-income senior living center in Costa Mesa, will have a reopening celebration 11 a.m. Thursday. The apartment complex was closed for several months so the developer could improve the quality and beautify the buildings in the complex.

The building owner entered an agreement to make the renovations with the city, which lent them money in exchange for a promise that the owner would keep the building affordable to low-income seniors for 55 years and maintain the building during that time, according to officials in the city manager’s office.

The recent renovations that were just completed included increased accessibility for the disabled.
