UCI needs participants for Alzheimer’s study

Volunteers are needed for a new Alzheimer’s research study by UCI, led by Dr. Steven G. Plotkin.

The international clinical study will investigate the effectiveness of a new drug designed to control the progression of the disease.

Other purposes of the study will be to explore the drug’s safety when treating mild to moderate cases of Alzheimer’s disease.

Participants should be age 50 to 89 and will be expected to make 16 visits to the UCI Medical Center during a period of 83 weeks. Evaluation and treatment will be provided at no cost to patients who qualify for the study.
