Erik Komatsu, who began his career at Vanguard University, has been named first-team All-Big West Conference in baseball as a junior outfielder with Cal State Fullerton.

Komatsu, who left Vanguard after a strong freshman campaign in 2006, led the Titans with a .354 batting average. His seven home runs and 47 RBIs ranked second on the team that captured a share of the Big West title.

Komatsu had 14 doubles, six triples and 18 stolen bases in his first season of Division I competition, helping Fullerton host one of 16 NCAA regionals. The Titans won the regional and will host a Super Regional against Stanford, beginning Friday at 7:30 p.m.
