Laguna Brisas Spa is host for Chill charity event

Best Western Laguna Brisas Spa Hotel hosted guests at the Chill Foundation’s charity golf tournament April 30 at the Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point. The event raised more than $25,000 for Chill’s programs for underserved youth.

“We were honored to again been selected as the host hotel for this important event,” said Scott Gaw, director of worldwide sales and marketing at Laguna Brisas Spa Hotel.

Chill supporters enjoyed an afternoon of golf, Wahoo’s fish tacos, Bud and Bud Light and 10 Cane Rum cocktails throughout the course. The event was topped off with a dinner at Monarch Beach’s Club 19 and an awards ceremony for the winners of the tournament.

Every year, Chill takes more than 100 disadvantaged kids to slopes, beach and skate parks.

Crystal Cove gala nets Beachcomber as sponsor

The Beachcomber Restaurant at Crystal Cove will again be the Big Kahuna Sponsor for Crystal Cove Alliance’s annual fundraising gala, planned for Sept. 6.

“For the Beachcomber, having the pleasure to play a role in raising awareness and funds needed for continued restoration is a small way for us to give back and contribute to this community,” said Tad Belshe, vice president of operations for the restaurant. The sponsorship is valued at $50,000.

Crystal Cove Alliance is still seeking sponsors for the event. Sponsor packages range from $5,000 to $25,000, and include priority seating at an exclusive sponsor table, tickets to the art sale, gala reception, art awards ceremony and sunset entertainment, name or logo on all marketing materials, banner at the event, and recognition on signage and printed materials. Additional sponsorship for the gala is still available including Kauai ($5,000), Maui ($10,000), Oahu ($15,000), and the Big Island Hawaii ($25,000.)

”We are so grateful for the continued support of The Beachcomber Restaurant, returning as our Big Kahuna sponsor this year,” said Laura Davick, founder and president of Crystal Cove Alliance. “Their contribution last year helped Crystal Cove Alliance raise a record $180,000.”

Crystal Cove Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the protection and preservation of the Crystal Cove State Park Historic District, its beach and marine life refuge.
