Kids care about Bolsa Chica State Beach

More than 500 elementary school students from Anaheim, Santa Ana and Newport Beach descended on Bolsa Chica State Beach Friday morning as part of the Kids’ Ocean Day Adopt-A-Beach Cleanup. The 15th annual event statewide had school children all along the coast cleaning up trash and getting the word out about clean beaches.

In addition to clearing away garbage and other waste, the kids took time to send a message. After the work was done, they lined up to spell out “Kids Care,” the day’s theme, in the sand.
