Alice Brunner Brizzi Petersen

Alice Brunner Brizzi Petersen, dearly loved mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother, died April 26, 2008, after a long illness. She was born August 13,1930 in Chelsea, Michigan. In 1956, Alice moved with her three children to Newport Beach, California where she began a lifelong career as an educator. She taught for nearly twenty years in the Newport Mesa Unified School District.

In 1979 she moved to Northern California to be near family and there she taught another twenty years for the Mt. Diablo Unified School District. Over the course of 40 years as an educator and “child advocate” she touched many lives. She retired in 1999. In 2003 she moved to El Granada to live with her daughter and her son-in-law.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ernie, and her son Donald Brizzi, Jr. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Amy Brizzi and Rex Geitner; her son Mark Brizzi; daughter-in-law Sherry Goddicksen; her granddaughter and grandson-in-law Alison and Nathan Clifford; grandson Michael Geitner; grandson Matthew Brizzi; and great-grandson Ciaran Clifford.

There will be a service for her at Riverside National Cemetery where she will be interred on June 23, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.
