Police host seminar on Internet predators

Parents looking for tips on how to protect their child from predators on the Internet will have a chance to hear from the experts when Newport Beach police host an Internet Safety Seminar at the Central Library tonight.

Police officials will walk parents through some of the dangers on the Internet and what they can do to keep their kids from clicking on the wrong site or talking to the wrong person.

Who sets the rules for your child’s online activity? Do they communicate with strangers or have a social networking profile? Detectives will help parents answer questions such as these and more from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Friends Room of the Newport Beach Central Library, 1000 Avocado Ave. RSVP with crime prevention specialist Andi Querry at (949) 644-3699.
