UCI’s Erazo honored

UC Irvine senior swimmer Eddie Erazo was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic-All-American second team Tuesday. Erazo became eligible for the team by being named to the ESPN the Magazine District VIII All-Academic first team.

Erazo earned All-American honors after finishing eighth in the 200-yard butterfly at the 2008 NCAA Championships. He was the 2008 UCI Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year and is a four-time UCI scholar-athlete.

He holds three UCI school records.

Erazo is an 11-time Big West Champion and was All-Big West in 15 events during his career.

He won a silver medal in the 200 fly at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

He finished sixth in the 200 fly at the 2006 U.S. National Championships.
