Carolyn Joyce Maskrey

Carolyn Joyce Maskrey passed in peace and comfort with

her four sons by her side on Monday, June 16 at age 74.

Born in Los Angeles, Carolyn lived her past 45 years in

Newport Beach and Costa Mesa, dedicating herself to the

raising of a family of four boys in the neighborhoods of

west Newport. Carolyn will be remembered as a loving and

uncomplaining mother, adoring grandmother, and a freespirited

“inn-keeper” to so many of the boys’ friends whom

she so lovingly embraced in her always outstretched arms.

She is survived by her four beloved sons and their wives,

Tim (Laura ), Brian (Kristin), Steve, and Jim (Yvette)

Maskrey. “Gammy” will always be remembered and loved

by her seven grandchildren, Ian, Alexendra, Jack, Emme,

Daphne, Mitchell and Sean. “Mom” will also be deeply

missed by the armies of adopted souls that passed through

her life.

Her family will be celebrating her life with friends in

a casual, drop-in setting at the home of Brian and Kristin

Maskrey, 223 Fairway Place, Costa Mesa on Saturday, June

21 from 2:00 to 6:00PM. The family welcomes anyone

whose life Carolyn has touched.
