Robertson comes away with All-American honors

Leah Robertson, a former Newport Harbor High standout, recently earned All-American honorable mention recognition for her performance on the Michigan women’s water polo team.

Robertson became the seventh player to receive All-American honorable mention in the program’s history.

Robertson set the single-season record for steals at Michigan this past season, her sophomore year, with 121, which surpassed her previous record of 109. She added to her career record of 230 steals and helped the Wolverines appear in the NCAA tournament for the third time.

Robertson also finished third in scoring on the team with 43 goals. She also recorded 35 assists. She set a program record for steals in a game with nine against Maryland.

Robertson was the only player on the team to receive all-tournament honors at all three of their postseason tournaments. Most notably being named to the NCAA All-Tournament second team.

Robertson helped her squad receive a top 10 national ranking and return to the NCAA tournament.
