PET OF THE WEEK

Pepper, a dark calico cat, and her six kittens are some of the few animals that have been adopted recently through the Community Animal Network.

But with summer here, the shelter needs more volunteers and adopters.

The organization has received an influx of calls about animals needing homes and is currently filled with potential pets — mostly kittens — ready for a welcoming home. Community Animal Network kittens are spayed and neutered, tested for leukemia and feline AIDS, vaccinated, de-wormed and have no flees.

All animals are micro-chipped and registered to the pet-parent.

The benefit from adopting from the Community Animal Network are that all the kittens are raised in private homes, receive a 30-day health guarantee, 30-minute pet-parenting and 30-day return policy.
