New store for expecting moms opens at the Camp

A motherly touch has been added to the Camp, the alternative shopping center in Costa Mesa. Bundles & Bumps — a store for new and expecting mothers and children up to 6 years old — opened its doors Saturday.

Sisters Jennifer and Maria Schroeder are the owners; they got the idea for their first business venture after their own experiences in buying baby clothes, as they had to travel all the way to Los Angeles to find a suitable store.

Bundles & Bumps features mostly clothes for children and mothers, but also carries other accessories, such as dolls, books, diaper bags and skin care products.

Though the Camp is home to a number of unconventional venues, such as 118 Degrees and Liburdi’s scuba center, Jennifer Schroeder believes that there couldn’t be a better location for their store.

As a whole, the general attitude of owners and employees about their new business is positive.

“We’ve been getting a really good response,” Jennifer Schroeder said. “People are excited that there’s a baby-maternity store in this center.”
