The stakes have been doubled in the unsolved death of 23-year-old Huntington Beach resident Dane Williams.

Hurley International — the clothing company where Williams worked as a marketing intern — recently doubled the reward for information leading to a felony arrest in Williams’ case from $10,000 to $20,000, while San Diego County Crime Stoppers has arranged the posting of numerous poster-sized signs in bus stops in hopes of obtaining more information about Williams’ death.

Valen Williams, mother of the deceased Williams, announced the doubling of the monetary reward Tuesday. The first $10,000 was anted up by two other organizations: Jack’s Surfboards, which contributed $9,000, and Crime Stoppers, which chipped in $1,000.

Williams was last seen Jan. 26 leaving a nightclub in the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego before he was found dead three days later in an alley of the City Heights neighborhood.

The autopsy and toxicology report came back without any relevant information to further the investigation; police are relying solely on forensics at this point.

“We still have some items that are being examined, but nothing that has identified who he might have been with after he left the bar or how he showed up in that alley,” said Lt. Kevin Rooney of the San Diego Police Department.

Though the case is still considered open by San Diego police, no one has come forward with information to this day.

Those with any information about the case are encouraged to call investigators at (619) 531-2293. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
