Slater, Dorothy Mae, 76, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend to many, a resident of Newport Beach, formerly of Pasadena, passed away on July 6, 2008. Dorothy was born August 18, 1931 in Los Angeles, CA. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Edward J. Slater. Dorothy was involved in countless Catholic Charities including but not limited to, Christ Child Society and Right To Life League. She loved to needle point, she was a wonderful cook, especially known for her brownies and Blarney Stones, made countless baby blankets for family and friends. She is survived by her children: Joseph (Nancy) Slater, James (Tracy) Slater, Edward (Lizabeth) Slater, Erin (Lonnie) Hamlin and Daniel (Janet) Slater. Her sister Louise McNeil along with grandchildren: A.J., Liz, Molly, Kelsey, J.P., Jessica, Ted, Hannah, Joseph, Charlie, Tommy, Melanie, Murphy, Kirby, Lily and Claire also survive her. A funeral Mass will be Celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 1441 Balboa Blvd, Newport Beach, on Thursday July 10, 2008 11:00AM.
