To submit an event, e-mail the information (including time, date, place and a short description) to hbindy@latimes.com with “CHURCH EVENT” in the subject line. Submissions should be sent by the Friday before publication.

This calendar will not include ongoing events, such as weekly meetings.

This is for one-time events, such as food drives, special presentations and fundraisers.

Summer Luau

Celebrate summer in the islands with a Tongan Luau at 5 p.m. at Community United Methodist Church, 6652 Heil Ave., Huntington Beach.

Adult tickets are $15, children 6 to 12 get in for $8 and children 5 and younger get in free. Enjoy dancing, food, fun and entertainment for the whole family.

Concert

The first annual Redeemer Lutheran Church Summer Concert will feature the 65-piece Huntington Beach Concert Band.

The 1 p.m. free concert will be staged in the church parking lot and will also feature the Redeemer Sanctuary Choir and the Redeemer Celebration Ringers bell choir.

Redeemer Lutheran Church is at 16351 Springdale St. between Heil and Edinger avenues.
