CATHERINE JOHNSON

Catherine Johnson of Balboa died peacefully in her

home on July 3, 2008 at the age of 100 years and 9

months. Kay, as she was known by her many friends,

was born in Pasadena, CA. On October 6, 1907. She

attended Grant Elementary School there and Pasadena

High School. She graduated from the Huntington

Hospital School of Nursing in 1929. She was preceeded

in death by her husband, John Johnson and her two

sons, John Jr. and Richard. She is survived by one niece,

Beverly Blackwood, 11 great nieces and nephews, 15

great, great nieces and nephews and 2 great, great, great

nieces and nephews.

Kay was a loving lady and a great friend to all. She

spent many hours volunteering at the Hoag Memorial

Hospital in Newport, the Newport Assistance League

and the American Red Cross. She had many friends

and they were all very special to her. She will be dearly

missed by her loving family and many friends.

Her funeral will be private. In lieu of flowers,

contributions may be made to he Hoag Memorial

Hospital or the Newport Assistance League.
