Erna Juptner

1931 - 2008

Erna Juptner, a long time Laguna Beach resident, passed away on July 16, 2008. She was 77.

Erna was born and raised in Munich, Germany. After working at a popular national magazine, she married her husband, Bill, and they moved to Chicago in 1954. She visited Southern California with Bill on one of his business trips and they both fell in love with Laguna Beach, which was her home for the past 45 years.

Erna enjoyed various interests and hobbies. For the past 25 years she volunteered at South Coast Hospital. She always wanted to help and give back. She was also member of the Ebell Club, Festival of the Arts and the Laguna Art Museum. She loved to entertain. Her family and friends could always count on a delicious meal and an even more delicious dessert. No matter what the occasion, her cakes were truly amazing. She loved to knit, read and travel. Erna and Bill traveled the world extensively and she loved her collection of artifacts from the many countries they visited.

Most of all Erna loved spending time with her family and friends. Her strength, loyalty and nurturing nature will be deeply missed by every one who sought and valued her friendship, especially her daughters.
