GREER’S BEST BUYS:

Lanis Boutique is a great find for chic shoes, handbags and accessories, and it’s the only store of its kind on East 17th Street in Costa Mesa.

Owner Stephanie Hsu chooses understated classic shoes like Cole Haan, Stuart Weitzman and Delman, and she also likes to punch it up with currently imported, hard-to-find styles including Modern Vintage from Canada and Gracienne from Brazil. And Hsu is careful to buy stylish shoes that are also extremely comfortable. It’s a great time to find deals at Lanis; its spring/summer inventory is reduced 20% to 50%. The boutique is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and by appointment Sunday at 270 E. 17th St., Costa Mesa. For more information, call (949) 515-3888 or visit www.lanisboutique.com.

Doggy swim for funds

Bring your dogs to splash in a pool, enjoy a free piece of special doggy cake, get your pet’s picture taken and more. A portion of the proceeds will benefit local animal rescue groups. Corona del Mar Plaza is at MacArthur Boulevard and East Coast Highway in Newport Beach. For more information, call (949) 760-3647.
