Cox to work on Coast Highway during summer

Cox Communications will be installing fiber-optic cable along Coast Highway from the north city limits to Crown Valley Parkway over the next two months, City Manager Ken Frank stated in his July 18 update.

The work will involve minimal lane closures during off-peak hours, he said.

Cox has agreed to cease work on the project if traffic problems develop, Frank said.

“We normally would not allow any non-emergency lane closures on Coast Highway during the summer,” he wrote. “However, there will be some advantages to allowing this work to be completed before the city’s huge paving project gets into full swing in September.”

Paving project in Mystic, Skyline to begin

A city paving project will begin next week in the Mystic Hills and Skyline area, Frank said.
