Senior Center fall classes set

The city of Laguna Beach Senior Services in collaboration with the Emeritus Institute at Irvine Valley College provide courses for older adults at convenient sites.

Fall classes will be from Aug. 25 to Dec. 19. Registration for continuing students is under way and new students may apply by completing an application and may register beginning Aug. 4.

The fall schedule offers fitness and lifelong learning classes at low or no cost to participants.

Film Genres examines the medium of cinema, emphasizing narrative story and directional technique. This class will study films inspired by true events or adapted from other media. The class will be from 1 to 3:50 p.m. Tuesday at the Senior Center.

Help with insurance issues for seniors

Laguna Beach Seniors Inc., in collaboration with HI-CAP, offers trained volunteers to provide information on Medicare, HMO appeals, long-term care and supplemental insurance from 9 to 11 p.m. the first and third Mondays of the month. Call (949) 497-2441 to make an appointment.
