Newport Beach Junior Golfer Hale Furey Qualifies for the Scissortail Junior Championship

Twelve year-old Newport Beach resident Hale Furey qualified for his first AJGA Open Tournament with an 80 on the 7,004 yard course at the Scissortail Junior Championship at Emerald Falls Golf Club in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The qualifier consisted of 65 players who were 12-18 years old. There were a total of 14 qualifiers with the medalist shooting even par of 72.

Harbor Day student Hale is a member of the Big Canyon Junior Golf Team which won the 2007 PGA Metropolitan Junior Team Play in Los Angeles. Once again, the team is headed to the finals this year. Hale loves golf and was ranked 1st for the 12-13 year old division of the SCPGA Junior Tour in the spring of 2008.
