Three Newport ZIP codes increase property value

The housing crunch in Orange County and the rest of California is continuing, though Newport Beach seems to be more resilient than the rest of the county.

According to information compiled by DataQuick, home prices have risen in only seven of the 82 Orange County ZIP codes in the past year. That said, Newport Beach accounted for three of the seven ZIP codes with raised property value.

The 92660, 92661 and 92622 ZIP codes all increased in value, while two ZIP codes in Irvine (92606 and 92614) did as well.

As a whole, the median value of single-family homes in Orange County is $467,000, indicating a $195,000 drop from figures around this time last year. Median values are down 27% from the peak of $720,000 in June 2007.
